TCS Education System Senior Director, Financial Aid in United States

Job Description:

The Community Solution Education System is seeking a Senior Director, Financial Aid to provide leadership and oversight of all areas in financial aid administration. T he Senior Director develops and maintains systems, processes, and policies that mitigate risk and ensures compliance with Title IV regulations, state, federal and international regulatory agencies; in addition to all policies across The Community Solution as it relates to financial aid.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Title IV regulations, financial aid programs, and administration. This person must also possess the ability to manage multiple high priority initiatives while leading all aspects of departmental service and administration. The Senior Director, Financial Aid will regularly collaborate with all Enrollment Management leadership personnel, across The Community Solution and oversee a team of financial aid professionals.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads the Financial Aid Department from awarding to aid processing.

  • Oversees the administration of private, state, and/or federal aid programs while maintaining a compliant department according to all federal, state and institutional rules and regulations.

  • Participates and collaborates across functional areas on policies and procedures to ensure Title IV compliance.

  • Collaborates with the Associate Vice President, Compliance and Student Finance to ensure accurate completion of reports to request funding & document expenditures.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of and experience with CampusVue and student finance related software programs (CPS, NSLDS, CVUE and COD).

  • Stays updated on industry best practices and student finance opportunities (domestic and international) to ensure the Colleges remain competitive and at the forefront of enrollment strategies.

  • Ensures that the Colleges have exception-free Financial Aid audits and program reviews by keeping abreast of and implementing all federal and state laws and regulations that pertain to the programs administered by the Financial Aid Office.

  • Ensures the Financial Aid Department maintains appropriate staffing and performance levels and all levels.

  • Partners with Human Resources department to provide the best onboarding and new hire orientation programs possible.

  • Oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of direct and indirect reports.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates wide-ranging technical knowledge of financial aid funding mechanisms, regulations, needs analysis methods, and aid packaging techniques.

  • Must be able to demonstrate both high financial and analytical acumen.

  • Exemplifies a dedication to providing excellent student service throughout the student life cycle.

  • Possesses exceptional communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Works effectively with students, parents, and administrators, as well as funding agencies and various outside organizations.

  • C omprehensive knowledge of all federal, state, and local financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to issues with an appropriate sense of urgency.

  • Manages and maintains confidential information.

Education:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with major course work in educational administration or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum ten years related experience in a centralized financial aid operation with progressive departmental leadership.

  • Proven experience of successfully managing financial aid and regulatory compliance initiatives and assessment.

    Working Conditions & Requirements:

  • Willing to work some evenings and weekends

  • Travel as needed. (up to 20%)

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $110,000 - 120,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
