For more than three decades, human space flight has been supported by advanced robotics developed by MDA. We have combined complex robotics with control software to develop the Space Shuttle's Canadarm and the Mobile Servicing System for the International Space Station. MDA is currently seeking an Engineer/MTS assigned to the Product Assurance (PA) department to action quality, safety and reliability tasks on aerospace, medical and nuclear programs. These tasks include reviewing system-level designs and performing system-level safety analysis tasks such as fault tree analysis, failure mode analysis, hazard analysis, reliability analysis, and life analysis.
PA interfaces with internal customers (including MDA program managers, engineering and manufacturing team), external customers (including their program and PA personnel) and various subcontractors and major suppliers.
PA is an independent engineering reporting organization within MDA. PA is involved in all aspects of the program, including support to proposals, customer and subcontractor contract negotiations, and through all phases of design, development, procurement, assembly, integration, test, qualification, delivery and operational support.
Interested candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4 years of experience at MDA, or in an equivalent highly-regulated industry. Experience producing safety analyses on medical, nuclear or aerospace designs is required. Project engineering or leadership experience is an asset.
Strong computer skills including MS Office along with engineering tools would be an asset.
Excellent verbal, written communication skills are essential to this position . All candidates must be able to obtain CGP and ITAR clearance .
