Our Manufacturing group is seeking an Engineering Technician – Apprentice with a Technical trade school diploma.

Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing and Facilities, the successful candidate will enter an apprenticeship program that will provide the training and education in order to be able to complete the following:

Build and test electrical, electronic and optical components, mechanical or electro-mechanical mechanisms. Interpret and implement detail design requirements within a broad design concept.

Trouble-shooting, rework or repair to units and to assist in determining cause of failure.

The applicant must meet the minimum requirements listed below:

Have a certificate or diploma from a recognized learning institution or have an acceptable level of education and prior work experience.

Pass a mathematics aptitude test as determined by the Company.

Show a competent level of dexterity on mechanical aptitude test.

Must pass a basic job knowledge test to establish that the student has the required theoretical knowledge or practical skills to apply themselves to the training curriculum.

Good knowledge and experience operating different machinery that includes Milling Machine, Lathe, Drill Press, Band Saw, and various hand tools.

Good knowledge of measuring instruments and its proper and accurate use, e.g. Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge etc.

Strong working knowledge of blue print reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Must be willing to follow the course curriculum to earn a designation as outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Excellent verbal, written communication skills are essential to this position . All candidates must be able to obtain CGP and ITAR clearance .
