Antenna Project Manager

The antenna engineering project manager will work to deliver innovative products in a fast paced environment to support satellite communications. This person must have the ability to work and manage cross-functional teams under pressure, and recognize, assess, and communicate issues towards delivering every project on time and within scope.

The primary functions of this role are:

  • Work with engineering, manufacturing and test team to develop a comprehensive project plan/schedule and define project responsibilities

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving program issues. Ensure on-time delivery for the project

  • Communicate schedule details both internally and externally as appropriate

  • Support the team and other organizations for schedule management, critical path analysis and schedule scenario analysis

  • Manage deliverables: review and understand project deliverables requirements, establish appropriate handoffs, ensure clarity and need dates. Monitor, manage, facilitate and report

  • Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, test, other organizations and subcontractors) to identify and prioritize project tasks and risks

  • Manage changes to the project scope and project schedule, with consideration for the project costs

  • Rectify any conflicts and scope changes at the earliest possible point

  • Develop and maintain project action items list(s), including assigning responsibilities and driving closure

  • Communicate status and key insights to the project team and management

  • Interface with customers on project status, issues, and changes

  • Schedule and conduct regular project reviews, team meetings and status updates. Submit regular reports to management and the customer

  • Identify, track and manage project risks

  • Be the overall point of contact for all project communications

  • Identify resource needs (i.e. engineering, test facility), work with functional managers to establish required resources, and conduct iterative look at how resource allocation impacts schedule

  • Coordinate inputs for design reviews and customer presentations, including with the team, other organizations and subcontractors

  • Utilize company systems and procedures to ensure all customer deliverables are appropriately provided

  • Lead and drive coordination of cross functional issues and design trades

  • Perform other duties as assigned by managementPosition Requirements:

  • BS Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred). MS Engineering or MBA is a plus

  • 7+ years of appropriate professional experience, preferably including increasing responsibility in project/product management and leadership roles

  • Demonstrated team-based problem solving, consensus building and facilitation skills

  • Excellent leadership skills that will enable effective, reliable and appropriate decisions and judgements

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple activities/projects, priorities, and people in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Project, or a comparable scheduling software platform. Knowledge of AMS Realtime Projects is a plus

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to simultaneously focus on the near and long term aspects of the project

  • Strong customer contact experience
