The Opportunity

GFT Asia (Group Functions Technology) is the Asia arm of corporate Group Functions and is entrusted to deliver Manulife’s corporate level IT roll-outs across 10 markets of Asia across various business functions (Actuarial, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, Marketing, HR and others). In addition, this team also delivers Regional projects across Asia markets, engaging with local IT and business partners.

What we are looking for :

  • Degree holder of Information System/Technology or related discipline.

  • In-depth IT experience (at least 15 years) with data analysis, business analysis, IT project management and vendor management exposure.

  • Experience in leading complex and large IT system roll-outs in HK or Asia market.

  • Ability to work with a variety of Asia regional and Global stakeholders (IT and Business) and build trusted partnerships.

  • Hands-on in preparing/reviewing good quality IT technical spec documents.

  • Quality focused, strong experience in trouble shooting IT issues, root causes and pro-active approach in addressing long term improvement.

  • Experience in life insurance administration system and finance industry preferred.

  • Experience of Manulife Asia- Policy admin, AMS and other admin systems an advantage. Knowledge of Database (SQL) is a must.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skill.

  • Faster learner and be able to acquire new technology quickly.

On the job you will:

Responsible for the delivery of the Group Functions Technology -Asia IT Projects and BAU with the following accountabilities:

  • Interact with Business Users & IT team to define Current State and Target State of the system and propose the technical solutions to achieve the Target State.

  • Align and leverage the global solution design (if any) to address Asia specific requirements by working with regional/local users and delivery partners.

  • Oversee the SDLC process (system analysis, design, development, Test production release) and ensure E2E delivery of technical solution from concept to production.

  • Prepare the IT project plan for system delivery for the assigned project.

  • Create project deliverable documents as applicable – as example Detailed data mapping document, Test cases, Test plan, System delivery plan, Handover etc.

  • Lead the onshore / offshore IT (Developers/ testers/ analysts) to ensure system development, integration testing (SIT) UAT testing is completed and ready for production deployment.

  • Preparation of the SOW (statement of work) documents including IT budgets.
