Iversoft Sr. Product Owner in Canada

At Iversoft the Sr. Product Owner is responsible for working with client stakeholders and our team to ensure that what we are building is executable and aligned with delivering maximum value to the client.

The individual will work with the client and project team to transform the product vision into an executable and measurable plan.

Each of our clients is different in the level of product management capabilities they have within their own team. As a result, a successful product manager at Iversoft will be able to gauge where existing expertise and documentation exist, and tailor product planning exercises to deliver the best value to the client.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the client to understand their goals, business context and customers, to ensure the software we create will deliver value to them.

  • Determine the metrics of success for a client project, and make sure all parties are aligned.

  • Work with client stakeholders to refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.

  • Work with internal and external team members to translate product visions into actionable outputs such as product roadmap, user stories, acceptance criteria, product requirements documents, competitive and market analysis.

  • Develop and/or refine user stories into a Product Requirements Document (PRD) that our design and development teams can work from

  • Work with clients to understand their go-to-market plans, and any technical requirements needed to support their success

  • Develop, own, and manage the execution of the product roadmap.

  • Assist in maintaining and grooming the sprint backlog.

  • Act as an ambassador for the product both internally and externally and be the primary contact for queries related to the product.

  • Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.

  • Assist with the review & qualification of new business opportunities & ensure estimates are assigned & completed with support from applicable departments (product, design, development & QA)

  • Introduces new tools that support our existing process and provide opportunities to improve efficiency and transparency to our team (internal and external). Documents training material and workflows for adoption of tools.

  • Contributes to the development of strategies for the continuous monitoring, evaluation and improvement of all aspects of product delivery within the framework established under organisational and departmental plans

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience working in a product role, with 5-7 years of overall software experience.

  • Experience with software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience translating a product vision into a defined feature set.

  • Experience working with external clients and stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.

  • Experience acting as the decision-maker on project teams, applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in Agile development framework.

  • Experience managing a team with both internal and external resources.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with ticketing and task management software (i.e. JIRA).

  • Experience working in a technical role such as a programmer or software engineer.

  • Experience working in an agency environment, managing multiple projects for varying clients.

  • Knowledge of mobile development.
