WESCO Program Manager in Vancouver, British Columbia

As a Program Manager- Operations at Wesco, you will be responsible for one Customer Program consisting of customer support services, purchasing, warehouse management and other contract compliance activities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and efficient coordination between various departments. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks including pricing, order entry, inventory management, invoicing, reporting, vendor coordination, and customer liaison. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates purchasing, customer services, vendor relationships and warehousing activities in accordance with company policies, procedures and principles.

  • Confers with customers on program performance and evaluates areas for improvement and expanded services.

  • Monitors programs effectiveness and prepares monthly reports, including cost, performance, service quality and improvements.

  • Analyzes supplier performance and makes recommendations on new agreements.

  • Reviews program performance metrics with site, including inventory turns, delivery, savings and stockroom fill rates, cost savings and areas for improvement.

  • Monitors account receivables and takes action.

  • Ensures proper implementation, participates in review to verify effectiveness, and identifies opportunities for improvement of quality systems.

  • Responds to audit findings and implements appropriate actions.

  • Coordinates vendor information sharing activities with customers, including new product launch, value-added and cost savings initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Pricing, Quoting, and Standard Order Entry (CORE):

Handle new orders for the customer.

Manage sales orders for current orders.

Cut Sheet Order Entry - SAM/Mainframe:

Mainframe is on DOS 2.0 - SAM is a user friendly interface

Process weekly orders for each project.

Manage the largest consuming time weekly.

Digital Inventory Management :

Optimize inventory allocations.

Maintain the master reel list.

Review Operations cycle counts and block audits.

Invoice Tracing:

Link to Master Material List and ensure all required information is provided.

Manage disputes from the shipyard.

Reporting:

Compile and present inventory, consumption, and financial reports to customers.

Manage Inbound Material Tracking and Tracing:

Coordinate with vendors on inbound shipments.

Work with the transportation team on shipment status.

Ensure packing slips meet quality standards.

Coordinate Priority Requirements with Operations Team:

Prioritize activities to meet customer schedules.

Manage emergency cuts and cable pulling activities.

Manage Customer-Facing Meetings:

Organize Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), audits, and weekly onsite meetings with shipyard, Production, and QC teams.

Oversight and Compliance:

Ensure adherence to established processes post recent audit.

Provide additional onsite oversight as required.

Assist in Managing Crest Incidents:

Ensure timely updates and closure of incidents entered by operations.

Utilize data analysis skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree required.

  • 5 years required; 7 years preferred of related experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong persuasion and skills.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Strong math and analytical skills.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

Prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment where urgency is paramount.
