Blue Origin LLC Senior Software Systems Engineer - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will work with other software systems engineers and other discipline teams to ensure compliance to standards and define processes around the required compliance. You will also be part of the team working to define the requirements of the next human-rated lunar lander. Software is the heart of space vehicle development so your ability to collaborate with other discipline teams effectively will be an important aspect of this role. You will also have long term vision and strategy for the products to truly sustain lunar missions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Evaluate, decompose, and create requirements for safety critical and non safety critical software Establish relationships and own cross functional communication for collaborative and effective development Author documentation, and participate in design reviews Support the integrated product manager to identify and track program and technical risk, develop and maintain schedule, resource allocation, and budge Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in avionics and software systems including software requirements derivation, management and verification Understanding of spacecraft systems and subsystem functions, and their interfaces Ability to communicate product vision and needs cross functionally. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired Qualifications: Experience working with NASA Procedural Requirement 7150.2D Experienced with application software source code utilizing C/C++ best practices for various space vehicle functions Experience with Agile software development methodologies Experience in build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, deployment of software Experience in autonomy, sequencers, state machines, and/or fault management in a mission or safety-critical environment Experience with Embedded Linux or equivalent real time operating systems Experience operating integrated hardware-in-the-loop lab environments Experience working on avionics, satellite, or space flight systems Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $157,054-$219,875 Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $170,805-$239,127 Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $170,805-$239,127 Other site ranges may differ Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
