Amazon Senior Corporate Counsel, Buy with Prime in Seattle, Washington
Description
Work hard, have fun and make history with Amazon’s Legal team. We are looking for a smart, motivated attorney to provide legal support to Amazon’s business. The attorney will be an integral part of the business so needs to be extremely comfortable providing counsel directly to business leadership on both legal and business issues.
Key job responsibilities
Some specific responsibilities include reviewing and advising on legal, customer experience and regulatory requirements for new business initiatives, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing training to business teams on legal and regulatory matters, providing legal review of innovative new marketing practices and materials, and streamlining processes for supporting business clients to ensure we deliver a great customer experience.
A day in the life
The successful candidate must possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; think creatively and programmatically to proactively solve problems; make high-judgment assessments of risk while effectively dealing with ambiguity; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; continually improve legal support programs and automate repetitive tasks; react with appropriate urgency and calmness to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action even without complete information; and roll up their sleeves in a typical start-up fashion to help the business with legal and non-legal issues.

Basic Qualifications
JD or international equivalent
10+ years as a practicing attorney, with at least two of those years at a major multinational law firm
Membership in good standing in at least one state or foreign bar
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to apply a high level of discretion, common sense, and good judgment to ambiguous situations
Ability to work independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
Experience successfully contributing to cross-functional teams
Keen interest in solving customer problems in new ways
Great sense of humor and fun and a willingness to grow and improve over time
Experience supporting business teams as they grow and scale
Strong written and oral communications skills and an ability to clearly and simply summarize complex ideas
Strong analytical skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $146,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
