Red River DevOps Engineer (Secret Clearance) in Richmond, Virginia

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer with expertise in Day 0 operations to join our team to design and implement automation solutions using scripting languages, infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, and configuration management tools for large-scale government programs. As an Automation Engineer, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop efficient and scalable automation solutions. This position includes up to 25% travel in and around the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or applicable work experience.

  • Secret security clearance.

  • Five years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on Day 0 operations, preferably in the government sector.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and Terraform

  • Experience with Ansible

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Understanding of networking and government security concepts.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex automation issues.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for automation solutions.

  • Design and implement automation solutions using scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code tools.

  • Develop and maintain scripts and templates for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

  • Automate deployment and configuration processes for cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

  • Integrate automation solutions with networking and government security technologies.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation processes and scripts.

  • Optimize and improve existing automation workflows.

  • Maintain currency of the latest automation technologies and trends.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of automation solutions.

  • Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures related to automation engineering.

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in streamlining and optimizing large-scale government operations through automation. Your expertise in scripting languages, IaC tools, and configuration management tools will contribute to the efficiency and scalability of processes. You will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, interacting with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality automation solutions.
