Noblis Sustainable Technology Specialist in Reston, Virginia

Responsibilities

On Noblis’ sustainability team, we are dedicated to addressing our planet’s biggest environmental challenges, including climate change. We are seeking a professional who will be a member of our sustainability team supporting Federal government customers. Our sustainability team conducts analyses that support the development of policy and provides sustainability subject matter expertise in support of sustainable facilities initiatives across the United States Government.

The candidate will be supporting the Sustainable Technology Evaluation and Demonstration (STED) Program with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The STED program evaluates and demonstrates sustainable technologies and products within DoD operational environments, supports outreach on these technologies to the Services, and facilitates inclusion of the products into DLA and GSA procurement systems. The candidate will be responsible for initiating, leading and/or supporting one or more of these demonstrations at multiple DoD or Federal Agency facilities, including: identifying and researching sustainable technologies; identifying site-specific requirements at DoD or Federal Agency facilities; working with manufactures and facility personnel to develop a demonstration plan and schedule the demonstration; conducting on site kick-off meetings, monitoring, collecting feedback, and closing-out the demonstrations; and developing a demonstration report.

In addition, the candidate will work with the STED team to support outreach to the Military Services through Sustainable Technology Expos, events held at DoD or Federal Agency facilities showcase sustainable technologies, provide awareness to the Services and agencies, and facilitate the initiation of future demonstrations. Duties include scheduling, logistics and coordination with the DoD or Federal Agency site; coordination with sustainable technology manufacturers; and managing the post expo survey sent to all attendees.

Required Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years, Associates degree and 8 years, or high school diploma and 11 years of applicable experience with sustainable/environmental/energy technologies and/or new technology demonstrations or integrations on DoD installations

  • Prior Military Service, DoD civilian or DoD contractor support

  • Active Secret clearance or Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

  • Secret Clearance

  • Direct experience with the DoD and Federal agencies implementing new technologies within one or more of the DoD Services

  • Direct experience working with DoD installations on new or sustainable technology issues

  • Direct experience with developing and maintaining working relationships with MILDEPS and Federal Agencies to execute technical performance evaluations and the transition to and procurement of new technologies.

  • Knowledge of and direct experience with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and General Services Administration (GSA) procurement processes

  • Direct experience with developing technical reports on technology evaluations

  • Ability to work fully remote

  • This position requires occasional travel

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

USD $81,900.00 - USD $143,300.00 /Yr.
