Continental Mechanical Classification Engineer Export Control & Sanctions (m/f/d) in Porto, Portugal

• Classify Continental's goods, software, and technology globally for export control within your field of expertise when they are transferred across international borders

• Determine classification for production equipment and machinery during location transfers

• Analyze and categorize sanctioned items in compliance with embargoes and sanctions

• Provide technical guidance to R&D and relevant departments

• Enforce STOP measures on R&D projects sharing controlled technologies across borders without proper licenses

• Advise and support R&D projects to ensure export control compliance for marketability

• Monitor non-proliferation regime developments for early warnings

• Manage technical aspects during crisis situations

• Participate, represent, and communicate within technical working groups of associations

• Prepare engineering assessments for goods, software, and technology classification, coordinating with R&D, authorities, and external advisors

• Analyze local/regional technical regulations related to export control, aligning with regional Centers of Competence, and define necessary local/regional procedures

• Identify gaps and implement necessary corrective actions

• Lead and supervise projects, including defining project requirements

• Establish a network of technical contacts across the organization

• Academic degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable qualification

• Several years of professional experience

• Knowledge of export control lists and systematics of technical export control

• General understanding of non-proliferation regimes and regulatory functioning

• Awareness of interdependencies of third country laws and jurisdictions

• Business fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken)

• Conceptional skills

• Communication skills, assertiveness, and ability to work independently
