Chenango County's Department of Public health has an opening for a full-time Registered Professional Nurse. This is a professional nursing position involving responsibility for performing community health nursing activities in the Chenango County Public Health Department. Duties include the assessment of patient health care needs, development and implementation of nursing care plans, provision of skilled nursing care and health education, and coordination of individual patient care. Incumbents are assigned to a public health nursing team providing either home health care or preventive services and participate in an on-call nursing system on a rotational basis. Travel to patient homes, clinics, or other community settings using the employees personal vehicle is required to fulfill the duties of this position. Work is performed under the general direction of the Supervising Community Health Nurse or Director of Patient Services and in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act. Does related work as required.<p> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Special Requirement: At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, a candidate/incumbent must possess a valid New York State Drivers License and a driving record acceptable to the Countys or school districts insurance carrier. The position has a 37 1/2 hour work week and 2024 starting pay rate is $34.77 per hour and includes a full benefits package.<p> No Civil Service examination required for permanent appointment!
