Elevance Health Actuarial Analyst in Norfolk, Virginia

Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.

The Actuarial Analyst assists in the determination of rates. Analyzes, develops and validates statistical data.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Under limited supervision, applies the appropriate actuarial analytical tools to the data and performs preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis.

  • Updates actuarial pricing, valuation and forecasting models as directed.

  • Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the division.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree and to have passed a minimum of one Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exam; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Completes Actuarial Experience Reports that includes, but not limited to data collection, Category of Service logic, leveraging IBNR models, and reconciling to the general ledger.

  • Provides additional support for Audits by explaining models, data and providing supporting detail.

  • SQL and SAS knowledge and experience is preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $55,656 - $111,312.
