Who You Are

You’re an experienced data scientist with a curious mindset and an eye for simplifying complex problems. You’re practiced at framing data science problems and designing creative solutions that drive business impact, with hands-on experience in marketing applications. You’re excited to collaborate cross functionally and to communicate your findings to ensure your work drives business impact.

Justworks is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Services team. You’ll partner with Marketing, Business Operations, and Technology teams, in addition to other data scientists, to create a rich understanding of our ongoing marketing initiatives and inform marketing strategy going forward.

Your Success Profile What You Will Work On

  • Use causal inference and predictive models to identify and unlock opportunities for marketing-led growth across the customer lifecycle (e.g. attribution modeling, customer segmentation)

  • Design and analyze experiments on our marketing campaigns to validate & optimize budgets across marketing channels, and to understand the impact of our initiatives on customer growth and retention

  • Build tools and frameworks to improve experimentation and measure incrementality of marketing efforts

  • Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists across our growth functions to analyze and optimize customer journeys

  • Partner closely with our Marketing function, Business Operations, and Technology teams to understand their goals and requirements

  • Independently own the prioritization, scoping, and delivery of data science initiatives that support marketing strategy & execution

  • Present and document key learnings and recommendations to teams in a manner that productively influences decisions.

  • Partner with the data engineering team to improve platform capabilities around data ingestion, data modeling, data quality, and insights generation

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, or global equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a data scientist or analyst, with experience in generating insights & recommendations for growth or marketing applications

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate analyses into actionable strategies

  • Proficiency in causal inference and experimentation

  • Track record of driving business impact through machine learning techniques in a professional setting

  • Proficient in at least one statistical programming language (Python or R)

  • Fluent in SQL

  • Familiarity with a cloud-based data stack (e.g. Snowflake, dbt)

  • Domain experience in Marketing or Adtech is preferred

    The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $167,500 to $184,250 per year.

    Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
