JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Graduate Program Manager position is responsible for the day-to-day planning, oversight and execution of administrative functions of the Cell & Molecular Biology (CMB) graduate program, a Ph.D. granting program providing to its students training and intellectual rigor as research scientists that opens various professional paths. Responsibilities within the program run from recruiting and admissions through the stages of training ending with the final Ph.D. defense. These responsibilities include: --Coordinating travel, lodging, meet-and-greets with program faculty and students, campus tours, and other visit details during prospective student visits --Communicating policy changes, updates, and requirements to CMB students and faculty, and sharing upcoming seminars and relevant events, including sending a weekly newsletter to students and faculty --Attending to student and faculty issues that arise (e.g., conflict between student and faculty, funding, and not meeting program requirements) --Coordinating activities with other programs (e.g., student and faculty mentoring workshops, setting the student stipend, etc.) --Improving diversity and inclusion of the program, including increasing the pool of diverse candidates and interviewees and working with the CMB Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee --Coordinating annual faculty trainer review: requesting and gathering continuing faculty trainer review applications as well as new trainer applications --Scheduling, setting agenda for, and contributing to annual meetings with rotating students, each cohort of students, new MD/PhD students, and new faculty trainers Responsibilities: Manages the administrative activities of graduate degree program(s) and/or certificate(s). Performs activities which may include: recruitment, admissions, new student orientation, academic advising, monitoring of progress towards the degree, course and/or enrollment management, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, funding, course and/or program assessment, and academic program review.
