Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Ops Finance IPAT in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

The WW Ops Finance Standardisation and Automation (S&A) team is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to serve as a technical expert and strategic thought leader. This Sr. TPM will be responsible for driving multiple large projects/programs and initiatives concurrently, leading cross-functional teams to achieve their short- and long-term goals.

Key job responsibilities

Partner with customers in Tech and Finance, and influence the direction of multiple engineering teams within the org to deliver complex/cross-functional projects

Build strategic roadmaps by driving consensus among Product and Tech teams, be a catalyst in multiple feature prioritization and fast-track decision making

Establish mechanisms that promote agility and engineering excellence through continuous iterations till you achieve optimal outcomes

Own the resource planning, execution and delivery of projects on the roadmap

Develop, improve and share operational best practices across the teams and with peers globally

Manage program-level schedules and milestones, and maintain alignment with multiple competing goals by negotiating and exhibiting ‘influence over authority’

Provide support and coverage across regions while organizing and contributing to meetings representing your projects and programs effectively.

Assess and manage risks, define and measure success metrics, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance what customer needs with the technical constraints

Act as a subject matter expert by synthesizing the problems and the solutions into a simple and consumable manner, and communicate effectively to a cross-functional audience

Regularly present to senior leadership the work accomplished, challenges faced by teams and recommend mitigation strategy

About the team

S&A is building technology solutions and services that enable consolidation of processes in the financial planning, bridging, reporting functions. These solutions include building a modern infrastructure platform to host a breadth of data solutions that will establish a single source of truth for our customers in WW Ops Finance. This platform will incrementally enable removal of dependencies on today’s disparate solutions while providing operational efficiency through automation. Our projects span multiple organizations and require coordination between them to achieve data integrity and platform stability. Your work will help build sustainable solutions ground up, migrate a large customer base to adopt these solutions, and enable sun-setting our organization’s legacy products. Your strategic vision will contribute to the convergence of what-is into what-should-be.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

  • Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience in technical product or program management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
