ASM Global Catering Supervisor in Kissimmee, Florida

SUMMARY

The Catering Supervisor will work in conjunction with the Banquet Manager and Catering Sales Manager in both Banquet and Arena Functions within the Catering Department to include, but not limited to, Suite Attendant, Banquets, Meetings, Bars, Heritage Club events and any other function serving any food and beverage items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the training of new employees.

  • Oversee and direct staff for Catering and other events as directed.

  • Assist with enforcing SMG/OHP policies and procedures including alcohol policies.

  • Serve as liaison with clients.

  • Fulfill the service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO).

  • Prep set up and organization of Catered Event; Prep breaks down and cleanup of Catered Event.

  • Creativity in designing buffet presentations and coffee break décor.

  • Continuously improve the overall look and appearance of buffets.

  • Maintain a line of communication with the Banquet Manager.

  • Manage banquets in the absence of Banquet Manager/F&B Operations Manager.

  • Assist Banquet Manager with maintaining accurate labor for an event.

  • Follow and maintain all cost guidelines for labor, beverage & food.

  • Maintain all Banquet equipment cleanliness on a daily basis.

  • Attend Weekly F&B Department Meetings and Menu Meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1 to 2 years' experience supervising other employees in the food service industry.

  • ServSafe and TIPS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with management, staff, and clientele.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, customer service and inter-personal skills.

  • Attention to details and the ability to multitask.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Must have a professional appearance and adhere to uniform policy.

  • Must be fully flexible with schedule .

  • Bartending skills preferred

  • Must have valid driver’s license and be prepared to load and drive company vehicles.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position requires working extended hours, flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedule.

  • Position requires physical ability to move about large facilities, including being on feet and walking for prolonged periods, bending, crouching, reaching, grabbing and/or standing up to and over 8-10 hours daily.

  • May be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the event.

  • Position requires being able to be exposed to high noise levels during concerts and other events.

  • Position requires the ability to push/pull, lift equipment, boxes, and other items.
