Summary About the Position: Serves as Deployment Support Branch (DSB)/Unit Movement Control Transportation Assistant at Fort Wainwright, AK providing technical advice and assistance for deployment, redeployment and mobilization movements of units at Fort Wainwright, Richardson and Greely. Responsibilities Provides technical assistance for actual movement of unit personnel and equipment. Provides practical support to units in identifying and obtaining blocking, bracing, packing, crating and tie-down (BBPCT) materials to include secondary loads and container loading. Serves as consultant and advisor for the movement database for units within Fort Wainwright’s area of responsibility. Serves as the assistant trainer and operator for the TC-AIMS II and AALPS systems. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing a variety of transportation regulations to assist in the movement of a wide range of specialized shipments such as, hazardous materials; utilizing automated transportation systems to access, retrieve, and/or generate various transportation data and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
