Insight Global DevOps Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Job Description

Our client is looking to add a DevOps Engineer to our team focused on our Retail Performance Engine platform and other customer facing websites. This includes products such as our Invitation Checking System, Account Revenue Solution, My Rewards Premium Cards, CashPlease, Akouba Micro, and Regulation E Management Solution. The DevOps engineer plays a key role deploying customer facing websites, coordinating with backend database changes, coordinating backend security patching, and serving as a technical expert for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Support operations. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and secure functioning of our web applications, contributing to the overall success of our organization. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with our development teams who are developing over these systems.

 Website Deployment:

o Oversee the deployment process of web applications and websites, ensuring seamless and efficient release cycles.

o Collaborate with development teams and business stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of websites.

o Continuously improve the process of website delivery.

o Drive continuous quality improvements reducing opportunities for error during site deployments.

 Backend Security Patching:

o In conjunction with our Security specialist, provide the CTO regular timelines on security patching progress.

o Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses proactively.

 Technical Leadership for Operations:

o Provide guidance, support, and technical expertise to our Tier 3 and Tier 2 Support staff.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, enhance system stability, and optimize performance.

o Act as the primary point of contact for technical operations-related issues and escalations.

 Incident Management and Troubleshooting:

o Participate with the CTO on any critical incidents and outages, participate in conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.

o Collaborating with the CTO, create and maintain incident response procedures to ensure rapid resolution of issues and minimal disruption to services.

 Automation and Process Improvement:

o Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

o Continuously assess and improve operational processes to ensure adherence to industry best practices.

 Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

o Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures for web applications.

o Participate in yearly Disaster Recovery testing.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience with managing websites using IIS on virtual servers

 Five years of experience with managing websites using IIS on virtual servers.

 Bachelors or higher in Computers Science or Information Technology

 Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead a team effectively and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

 Experience in agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is preferred.

 Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members. Experience using Azure DevOps for tracking work.

 Microsoft SQL or Oracle and PL/SQL Experience

 Understanding of SQL queries

 Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for process improvement and system monitoring.

 Experience with cloud hosting, orchestrations, infrastructure as code, and deployment methods. null
