Compensation: Compensation is dependent on experience and ranges from $65,000 to $68,000/year.

General Summary:

Develop community relationships to enhance resident access to the Colorado Convention Center (CCC). Responsible for sales and event contracts to optimize rental revenues and occupancy. Experience in the hospitality/events industry, ideally with a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) or venue, is essential.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

  • Work closely with the Assistant Director of Sales and Director of Sales and Services to engage community organizations, charitable groups, and not-for-profits.

  • Identify opportunities with community partnerships that align with the brand and utilize the Colorado Convention Center (CCC) facilities for events and activations, following calendar and protocol guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing Coordinator to promote the CCC’s initiatives and increase community awareness of CCC usability and offerings.

  • Participate in community and industry-related events as necessary for educational and networking purposes, and represent the CCC effectively.

Sales and Contracting:

  • Manage the booking calendar and ensure timely implementation of all correspondence.

  • Handle sales and contracts for event business, including both internal leads and collaborations with VISIT DENVER booked business.

Client Support and Service:

  • Provide ongoing support and service to existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and issues resolved promptly.

  • Respond to inquiries from various sources including the website, social media, and other channels, maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Sales and Director of Sales and Services, contributing to the overall success of the sales and community engagement efforts at the CCC.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a Bachelors in Business or the equivalent of (3-5) years’ work experience in Sales in the tourism industry.

  • A minimum of (3-5) five years’ work experience in the hospitality industry and knowledge of convention center operations is preferred.

  • Preferred CMP certification.

  • Previous experience with contract development and/or negotiation preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills among all levels of staff and clientele required.

  • Ability to speak, understand, and read English required.

  • Work effectively with diverse groups of people at all levels within an organization and the outside community required.

  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently with limited supervision required.

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
