The following positions within Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry, Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are offering the opportunity to enroll in a new program offering a cash incentive to recognize your work treating patients with substance use disorders. This program is sponsored through the ACCESS (Advancing Careers, Competencies, and Equity in Substance Treatment Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract.

  • Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7,500 by December 2024
  • Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024
  • Care Navigators may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Patient Access Manager will provide leadership, support and focus for the staff involved in all areas of Patient Access services. Responsible for the management of daily activities to maximize revenue as a result of registration and financial clearance functions.

Essential Functions: Maximize financial collections and maximize patient satisfaction with the access processes. Ensure that financial performance objectives related to revenue cycle initiatives are achieved. (10%) Responsible for supervision of all staff in assigned areas. Monitor adherence and compliance to Denver Health's standards, directives, policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements for registration, revenue cycle and patient access (10%) Leads the development and implementation of all necessary reporting, monitoring standards and processes associated with outpatient clinic, Revenue Cycle Education and Training, Patient Access and registration functions. (10%) Manages and coordinates the activities of employees, determines work procedures and expedites workflow utilizing LEAN methodology in consultation with Patient Access Leadership team. (10%) Key member of the Revenue Cycle team who works collaboratively with the Director of Revenue Cycle and Director of Patient Access to attain revenue cycle goals related to registration and authorization functions, through understanding and appropriate administration of the entire revenue cycle. (10%) Ensure compliance with training program and quality assurance initiatives for all Admissions and Outpatient Specialty departments that perform registration functions. (10%) Facilitate communication between Patient Access functions and other departments within the hospital and/or health system. (10%) Establishes benchmarks for best practice operational efficiency. Implements processes, automated to the extent possible, utilizing Lean methodologies to ensure achievements of benchmarks and departmental/organization-wide goals. (10%) Serves as principal interface between the department physicians and practice managers and the registration/admitting authorization functions. (10%) Serves as a resource to staff and is visible / available to front-line staff on a daily basis (5%) Promotes positive interpersonal (customer) relationships with fellow employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Treats these individuals with courtesy, dignity, empathy and respect; consistently displays courteous and respectful verbal and non-verbal communications. (5%)

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Work Experience: 4-6 years front end revenue cycle experience or a combination of front end and bil ing experience required.
