UPMC Food Service Worker in Cumberland, Maryland

UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a part-time Food Service Worker! This is a limited-part time position, meaning the employee will work no more than 8 hours per week. This position will cover evening shifts from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm 3 out of 4 weekends of the month (including rotating holiday shifts). This position provides for accurately registering all sales of restaurant customers while maintaining security of all monies in and around the cash registers through the work shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Specify factors or standards which will be used in measuring and appraising the performance of the employee in this position.

  • Set up cashier's station at the beginning of the shift and maintains funds appropriately throughout shift.

  • Conduct cleaning duties.

  • Give all customers a receipt as proof of payment.

  • Complete supply inventory. Order supplies as necessary.

  • Ensure food products are charged accurately by consistently checking the portion sizes and by asking all customers to open all Styrofoam containers to verify contents according to department procedure. Notifies supervisor/ manager of any discrepancies immediately.

  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition according to HACCP guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • The standards which are used in measuring this employee's performance are the accuracy, efficiency and speed in which tasks are completed.

  • Perform in accordance with system competencies/ behaviors.

  • Demonstrate proficiency and flexibility, to be able to communicate appropriately and respectfully to the public and to mental health consumers, and will be expected to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers, case managers and other individuals within the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

  • Follow guidelines established in regard to shift coverage and call off procedure.

  • Record miscellaneous non-monetary purchases accurately.

  • Follow department dress code guidelines consistently.

  • Collect money from cash customers and returns change accurately in accordance with established cash handling procedures.

  • Adhere to health code guidelines.

Must possess the ability to accurately count and perform basic mathematical functions.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
