QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER/PRODUCT OWNER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

The chosen candidate will primarily be responsible for software development using Java Provide in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large code baseline Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code Assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the system's overall efficiency Design, code, test, and implement tools for automation Applies extensive expertise and solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of experience or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Java experience Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment Knowledge of software practices and coding standards Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend and develop a solution Works independently or with a small group Be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience leading an Agile team Familiarity with Java Spring Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes Knowledge of server-side development and message passing Experience developing enterprise applications Good working knowledge of MS Office products Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle and Eclipse Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams Command and control system application development Previous experience with message translation software Automated test and pipeline development experience Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers; experience setting up a container environment Security+ or equivalent

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD TOP SECRET/SCI/FSP level security clearance.

Salary Range

$150,000 - $215,000

Employees may be eligible for a discre ionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
