Position Summary

Huron’s higher education and research sales enablement team is dedicated to facilitating efficient, on-time delivery of client-facing materials that support core, sales-related activities. The team optimizes processes to gain efficiencies and set our sellers up for success while also delivering key RFPs, proposals and broader sales assets on time. By leveraging best-in-class sales enablement practices, the team enables our sellers to make meaningful connections with our clients across the entire buyer’s journey, accelerate business growth, and develop a dynamic brand in the process.

Role & Responsibilities:

The Sales Enablement & Proposal Writer’s core focus is the development of high-quality and winning proposals in partnership with our industry experts and sellers. This role partners with internal stakeholders to deliver on requests, including (but not limited to) the following assets and initiatives:

• Development and project management of high-quality, persuasive sales proposals (RFPs/RFIs), pitches / orals presentations (powerpoint) and other business development materials

• Scope the scale and reach of projects and calculate pricing in partnership with consultants

• Identify improvements to templates, systems, and processes to ensure quality and consistency across all proposals

• Review and proofread proposals developed by other team members, ensuring quality and consistency

• Perform edits and coordinate other activities required to ensure on-time delivery of error-free, client-focused proposals under aggressive deadlines

• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the effective integration of all firm research and relevant client case studies into proposals

• Document and update opportunities in CRM

• Maintain an archive of proposal development documents in a shared database

• Participate in project-based work as needed

• Request triaging and assignment

• Bid site coordination and optimization

Success Metrics:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including previous proposal development and/or business writing experience, with demonstrated proficiency in editing and proofreading

• Ability to translate broad, complex concepts from subject matter experts into clear, compelling, and concise communications

• Demonstrated project management abilities and strong organizational skills

• Superior attention to detail, balanced with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment

• Ability to perform against standardized methods and processes

• Ability to socialize best practices and share knowledge across the team

• Ability to receive and deliver feedback on current processes and opportunities to drive efficiencies

• Ability to prioritize workload and respond quickly to shifting priorities and deadlines

• Ability to balance multiple assignments simultaneously

• Inquisitive, curious self-starter; interest in or an eagerness to learn about higher education and research;

• Desire to understand overarching business context to better describe it in proposals

• Internal and external customer service orientated and a committed to meeting high expectations for quality and accuracy

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, English/Journalism, Communications or Business

Experience

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant business or professional experience

  • Professional services, business-to-business or writing/editorial experience

Required Skills/Competencies

  • Strong project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Proficiency in consistently managing multiple workflows

  • Ability to prioritize and communicate effectively: and flexibility to adjust priorities (and communicate) as needed

  • High comfort level with fluctuating volumes of deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus

  • Solid understanding of sales/pre-sales processes

  • Ability to quickly filter and synthesize large amounts of information, identifying key points and providing relevant insights

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project); familiarity with Sharepoint, Salesforce and other cloud-based platforms a plus

The estimated base salary range for this job is $55,000 - $75,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $59,400 - $84,000. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future
