Radiant Solutions is looking for a Data Scientist. Do you have a head for numbers? Like turning real world problems into mathematical representations and checking to see if you did it right? We need both experienced data scientists and aspiring data scientists to work on all stages of the data science pipeline, to include applying existing machine learning software across large hyper-parameter trade spaces, developing new machine learning algorithms and evaluating the best the commercial AI/ML industry has to offer to our problem set.

What would you be doing?

  • Working as part of a team comprised of data scientists, software developers, Dev Ops engineers, and systems engineers to develop a user facing predictive analytic system for event forecasting

  • Identifying, extracting, and transforming data using Python and its associated open source data analytics libraries

  • Applying a rigorous statistical methodology to data analysis to create models for predictive analytics

  • Applying big data analytics tools to large, diverse sets of collection data to assess risk of adverse threat activities

  • Extending existing algorithms as required to support customer requirements

  • Developing and applying new data science algorithms to improve system performance

  • Briefing government customers on your work including high ranking civilian and military personnel.


You have to have these:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or Computer Science discipline or equivalent

  • 2-5 years of experience in government or industry conducting technical analysis

  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated through work experience in the quantitative analysis of technical systems and data

  • A natural level of curiosity and willingness to research new solutions when necessary

  • Exceptional oral and written communications

  • Organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Proficiency in at least one of these languages: Python, R, VBA, Java, C++,

  • Ability to take technical direction from senior technical staff, ask clarifying questions, and work through technical road blocks

  • US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain polygraph are mandatory for this position and required for consideration.

We’d really like it if you had:

  • Experience using algorithms related to machine learning or data analytics

  • Experience developing and testing models

  • Proficiency coding in Python using NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas

  • Proficiency coding in a Linux/Unix environment

  • Experience using, developing, and writing queries for PostGres databases

  • Experience using Elasticsearch and Kibana

  • Graduate experience working with probabilistic and stochastic statistical analysis or computational intelligence

  • Experience conducting model feasibility research and algorithm development for machine learning

  • Experience working in an Agile environment, especially SAFe

  • Experience working with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)

  • Experience working in the commercial AWS or government C2S computing environments

  • Knowledge of technical aspects of ISR systems
