Johns Hopkins University Sr. Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking to a Sr. Research Program Coordinator to work in the Division of Adolescent Medicine. The successful candidate will be talented and motivated, with excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate the implementation and evaluation of an acceptability/feasibility trial of a text-messaging program (Text4Father) to engage first-time expectant fathers during pregnancy through early infancy.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administratively coordinate protocol implementation of study and day-to-day logistical oversight, coordination, and communication with principal investigator, including assisting with IRB maintenance.

  • Coordinate all activities of a research study to assure validity of findings. Ensure adherence to protocols.

  • Develop protocol, manage, and oversee social media platform to recruit study participants.

  • Coordinate and conduct recruiting and retaining participants and administration of baseline and follow-up surveys; and provide oversite for research assistants conducting participant study recruitment and retention and survey procedures.

  • Oversee participant assignment to study arm and enrolling intervention participants in the text messaging platform.

  • Oversee and conduct tracking of participants over time, including monitoring of responses in text messaging platform/study email account, and interim and end-of-study in-person and phone follow-up contact.

  • Oversee record implementation and management for research study, including using Excel, RedCap, or similar system, and set up of any additional database(s).

  • Oversee writing summary of weekly recruitment activities, including any related study events to discuss at weekly team meetings.

  • May assist in coordinating study meetings.

  • Oversee and assist with data management and quality control/assurance, including data entry.

  • Participate in study meetings and provide update on protocol implementation status and make recommendations on operational issues.

  • Assistance in preparation of presentations, manuscripts, and reports.

  • With oversight of PI, ensure standard operating procedures are followed by study team members.

  • Maintain high ethical standards.

  • Oversee training of new staff on study procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, RedCap, Qualtrics, EngageSpark

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Able to handle sensitive information.

  • Data collection and entry.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

  • Resolves problems that arise and/or effectively communicates them to the direct supervisor.

  • Work cooperatively with others in the center and partnering organizations.

  • Joins regular team meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred candidates will be highly organized, meticulous to details and deadlines, have prior experience working with fathers or men as part of public health practice, including minority men in urban settings (preferred); have prior experience with clinical trial procedures.

Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MB

Starting Salary Range: $20.97 - $36.71 HRLY ($55,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
