Amazon Principal Product Manager, IT Services, IT Services in Arlington, Virginia

Description

A member of the IT Services (ITS) Leadership Team, your purview will be product ownership for ITS's rhythm of business activities across the organization, collaborating with teammates to produce well-structured products which communicate plans, progress and output of ITS's contributions towards IT's North Star. This position will work across teams in ITS, IT partners and key stakeholders helping to bring unity, alignment, understanding and engagement to IT's vision of empowering Amazonian productivity via offering effective, seamless and frictionless IT products and services. You will develop communication and engagement mechanisms for enabling our Engine and Stores senior leaders, customers and key partners to obtain a clear view of ITS's and IT's progress via our quarterly business reviews, drive focus on progress of ITS's leadership goals via our monthly reviews, assist teams with development and adherence to strategic roadmaps, help teams develop, mature and leverage dashboards to measure operational execution in delivering ITS Products and Services. You will identify gaps in current processes across the team and provide recommendations and solutions to be implemented to enable our organization to continuously improve. As part of the ITS leadership team, you will serve as a key driver of the organization’s operational plans (OP1 & OP2) working closely with partner IT & Finance teams to develop and present an annual unified IT operating plan.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Play an active and influential part in evolving IT Services strategic vision as part of a unified IT North Star, help drive the creation and execution of IT Services strategic annual and long-term roadmaps, and bring focus across IT Services to execute on that vision.

  • Deeply understand ITS’s customers, their needs, the business landscape, product functionality (current and desired), and front and backend technologies (opportunities and limitations; both 1st and 3rd party).

  • Help make the case for investment and demonstrate frugality by adeptly prioritizing the right initiatives to achieve the greatest impact with the least amount of resources

  • Work with key stakeholders across the team and partner organizations to drive annual operational planning.

  • Help to evolve, track and analyze business metrics to identify systemic issues and inefficiencies across the organization. Innovate to drive solutions to improve these KPIs for continuous improvement.

  • Own producing documents related to various rhythm of the business activities such as business reviews, goals, internal communications, annual operational plans and other strategic topics as needed.

  • Monitor and help strengthen our business policies, audit and improve our capabilities in operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert level written and verbal communications skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
