Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Corporate Counsel to support our rapidly growing Buy with Prime business, a new service offering that enables merchants to offer Prime shopping benefits of fast, free delivery and trusted checkout on their own ecommerce stores. You’ll be a leader in the legal team that analyzes and advises on a broad range of product and commercial issues, providing day-to-day input on business and strategy. You will work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic feature launches as well as data handling and privacy issues and initiatives. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

Basic Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar.

• 5+ years of experience as an attorney

Preferred Qualifications

• A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience is a plus

• Experience working on product counseling and privacy matters

• Lots of curiosity and experience quickly learning new technologies

• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams

• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations

• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines

• Strong written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
