CHILDRENS HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER OF AKRON Simulation Education Coordinator in Akron, Ohio

Full Time, 36 Hours/Week Monday to Friday, Flexible Hours Onsite Summary: The Simulation Education Coordinator provides pediatric and adult education to simulation clients. Responsibilities: 1.Assesses, designs, implements and evaluates educational needs and programs. 2.Demonstrates the ability to identify latent safety threats through all simulation endeavors. 3.Utilizes simulators both as an operator and an educator. 4.Provide for the proper care and maintenance of all equipment and supplies making sure that all equipment is in working order. 5.Participates in the programming of simulators 6.Expert facilitator of debriefing sessions. 7.Provides leadership and staff development through education, consultation, and scholarly endeavors. 8.Designs, implements and evaluates simulation scenarios for the purpose of process or quality improvement. 9.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide education to ACH employees for the physical, psychological, social, and safety needs of the learners served. 10.Other duties as required. Other information: Technical Expertise 1.Experience in healthcare education is required. 2.Experience in pediatrics with a clinical focus is required. 3.Experience in clinical critical care [PICU, NICU, ED] is preferred. 4.Experience in teaching and utilizing adult learning principles in adult or pediatric settings is required. 5.Experience in continuous process improvement and learning principles is required. 6.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required. 7.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar software is required. 8.Experience with simulators and Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred. Education and Experience: 1.Education: Bachelor's degree in related field is required; Master's degree or currently enrolled in a Master's program is required. Completion of Master's program is required within three years from date of hire. 2.Certification: Licensed Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Neonate Resuscitation Program and Basic Life Support certification preferred. 3.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 4.Strong organizational skills. 5.Experience with crisis resource management. 6.Team Dynamic experience. 7.Years of relevant experience: Minimum 3 years is preferred. 8.Years of experience supervising: None.
